Kamala
Beach has a great mix of small and large, luxury and budget,
boutique and traditional type resorts/hotels.
Here again, we
will start on the south end of the Bay and work north.
Following are short reviews of each resort detailing what is
different or special about each. The link for each resort
will provide a detailed photos and information page, and a
link for booking should you wish to do so. Beach shack
restaurants serving authentic Thai cuisine are an easy walk
from almost anywhere along this beach.

Aquamarine Resort and Villas
Stunning views
from the far south of the bay. Built up on a hillside,
almost every room and villa has a great view. Twenty luxury
villas and 186 rooms. Not an easy walk into town - but they
have a shuttle that will get you back in forth in minutes.
The beach immediately in front of the resort is not so nice
at low tide, but again - a fast shuttle will get you to the
exceptional beach on the north end of town.

Dreams
Excellent and
popular hotel and restaurant and situated right on the beach
AND right in town. The best of both worlds. Only 16 rooms
and a loyal following.

Kamala Resort
Just across the
street from the beach. A very nicely designed grounds and
buildings keeps the Print Kamala popular. Two story
restaurant overlooks the beach. For more privacy check out
the bungalow buildings in the back of the resort - a whole
different jungle world with elevated walkways.

Layalina Hotel
A small boutique
resort with some exceptional qualities. Can be entered only
from the beach front. Well trained and friendly staff.
Unusually good reviews. The photos don't really do the
place justice. Great for something a little bit different
and whole lot special. Notice the individual terraces on the
roof.

Kamala Beach Hotel and Resort
A local
favorite, sitting right on one of the best stretches of
Kamala Beach. Excellent restaurant. Poorly reviewed a few
years ago - but now has world-class management by Best
Western, and it shows. Just to the north on the beach - a
large assortment of Kamala's famous beach shack restaurants.

Thiwaratri Resort and Spa
An odd location -
just outside the main part of town, to the north on the main
road. But . . . very interesting Bali-style design. The
new kid in town really. Several villas and suites set them
apart from the crowd.
